Ekiti Youth Voices Endorse Osi Ward 2 for 2027 Kwara Assembly Ticket
A coalition of young people under the umbrella of Ekiti Youth Voices has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone the party's 2027 Kwara State House of Assembly ticket for Ekiti Constituency to Osi Ward 2, describing the demand as a matter of equity, fairness, and political inclusion.
The group made the appeal in a press statement issued in Ekiti Local Government Area, arguing that Osi Ward 2 has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the party and has, over the years, sacrificed its political aspirations in the interest of unity and peaceful coexistence within the constituency.
According to the statement, the decision followed consultations across communities in Ekiti Local Government Area, with members concluding that Osi Ward 2 deserves the opportunity to produce the next representative for the constituency in the 2027 general election.
The coalition noted that Osi town has remained a strong political base, contributing significantly to electoral victories over successive election cycles. It added that despite its voting strength and contributions, the ward has repeatedly yielded elective opportunities to other communities to preserve harmony.
Calling on APC leaders and stakeholders to uphold the principles of fairness and rotational politics, the youth group urged the party to consider Osi Ward 2 in its zoning arrangements ahead of the 2027 elections.
The group also endorsed Otunba Olusegun Olaiya Adewumi as its preferred aspirant for the Ekiti Constituency Assembly ticket, describing him as a community leader with a record of service, commitment, and inclusive leadership.
It stated that its endorsement was based on three key considerations: equity, capacity, and unity. According to the coalition, Osi Ward 2 possesses the human capital, political experience, and electoral strength required to deliver victory for the APC while strengthening unity across the constituency.
Appealing to party stakeholders, traditional rulers, elders, and residents of Ekiti Local Government Area, the group emphasized that its campaign was not intended to create division but to promote fairness and reward loyalty.
The statement further pledged to mobilize youths across all wards in the local government to support the APC if the party's Assembly ticket is zoned to Osi Ward 2.
