PHOTOS: Senator Saliu Mustapha Distributes N1.5bn Farm Inputs to Kwara Central Farmers
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Senator Saliu Mustapha, distributed fertilizers and other farm inputs worth N1.5 billion to smallholder farmers across the four local government areas of Kwara Central Senatorial District as part of the sixth phase of his agricultural empowerment programme.
The distribution exercise, held at the senator's constituency office in Ilorin, was aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, enhancing food security, and supporting farmers with essential inputs for the farming season.
The items distributed included 5,000 bags of NPK fertilizer, 2,500 bags of Urea fertilizer, 1,000 knapsack sprayers, 500 water pump machines, and 250 power tillers.
Beneficiaries were drawn from the four local government areas of Kwara Central Senatorial District, with the intervention expected to improve crop yields, strengthen local food production, and enhance the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
The initiative forms part of Senator Mustapha's continued efforts to support agricultural development and promote economic empowerment across the district.
