IGP’s Wife Urges Police Spouses To Pray For Their Husbands’ Success Against Bandits


Hajara Alkali-Baba, the wife of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba,has called on the spouses of police officers to pray for their husbands to be able to tackle banditry and other security challenges confronting the country.

Mrs Alkali-Baba, who is the National President, Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), made the call on Sunday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, during her two-day working visit to the state.

She urged the police officers’ wives to continue to entrench peace in their homes to inspire their husbands to focus attention on their duties.

The POWA president also distributed items to 80 officers’ wives, some of whom are widows of deceased personnel.

Some of the items include sewing and grinding machines as well as rice and other food items.

She stated that the programme follows her desire to empower police officers at the home front through their wives.

In his remark, Adeyemi Soyemi, Commissioner of Police (CP) in Nasarawa State, commended the IGP for bringing new innovations towards addressing security challenges in the country.
