MM Supporters, Loyalist Hold Birthday Prayer Session In His Absence
The two term Commissioner, former Rep and also the longest serving senior aide to the Senate President Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Alhaji Moshood Mustapha is a politician and a businessman who has for sometime now cultivated wide network of friends in the social and the political circles.
The Ilorin born politician who became Kwara state Commissioner for Lands and Housing exactly 22 years after his father, Alhaji Usman Mustapha left as the Commissioner for Finance in the old Kwara state, also represented Ilorin West/Asa Federal constituency in the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015. Friends and supporters gathered to clink glasses as the former reps member added a year on Sunday ,11th of March, 2018.
We learned that Moshood who turned 55 was not around in Ilorin, his supporters, loyalists, members of the Mustapha family and Islamic clerics however, organized a prayer session in his honour which was attended by the Imams in the Isale-Aluko area and the Magajis.
The imams that grace the event includes Alikinla, Kudimoh, Ogongo, Kokoro kan, Atere, Alaro, Ogunbo and others. The guest lecturer, Sheikh AbdulRazaq Ibrahim Milo who charged the wealthy individuals and the political office holders in the country on the need to show loyalty and respect to God and the Holy book urged them to always reflect on the past and their humble beginnings rather than focusing only on the future. Those who have grown to become adults and top personalities must according to him, remember that there was a time when they were in a state of nothingness where they were not conscious of their environment and knew nothing about life as innocent babies and that they will still stage a return to such condition if they also grow very old.
Sheikh AbdulRazaq Ibrahim equally pointed out that the fact that a man turned out to be successful and shone among the family members and peers does not imply that the others offended God or that they are not as intelligent as he is.
The Islamic cleric also condemned politicians for finding platforms to sweet talk their way into the minds of the masses and using cajoling words to earn their votes only to later get to power and move around in cars with tinted glasses, snatch people’s lands and farms and abandon their old friends.
Marking one’s birthday is also according to him, usually an opportunity to take the past into accounts and plan for the future as no one knows the number of years he/she would spend on the planet earth.
Sheikh AbdulRazaq Ibrahim Milo who appealed to the political leaders to present candidates that know where the shoes pinches the ordinary people lamented that people are suffering and that nothing appears to be working in all the sectors; education, roads etal. ‘Politicians should present good candidates, in the forthcoming elections, Hon. Moshood Mustapha knows the terrain, he identifies and interacts with all, the former lawmaker could have given instruction that the prayer session be held at his GRA residence but he moved the venue to his Isale-Aluko family house, Moshood is kind-hearted and he is nice to all, he knows what to do about the challenges facing the state because he is close to everybody and he knows how to address and tackle issues’ he said.
