AA Leadership Fitness Retreat Concludes With Resounding Success In Kwara


The A.A Leadership Fitness Retreat, convened by Amb Shola Ilyas Akanbi, has ended on a high note, bringing together youths and prominent government officials to promote wellness, leadership, and community connection. The event, held in Ilorin, was a melting pot of activities, discussions, and networking opportunities that fostered connections and self-reflection among participants.

Notable attendees included Alh S.A Salaudeen, Counselor to the Kwara State Government; Sheu Ndanusa Usman, Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Commissioner for Transport, Hon Commissioner for Agriculture, Alh Rasaq Jidah, [Special Adviser on Special Duties], Hon Dr Lanre Darosa, Hon Funsho Abdullahi, [Chief of Staff to Hon Minister for Youth], Alh Danmaigoro, and Alh Olasheu.

The retreat featured a range of activities, including yoga, spa treatments, cultural dance, and games such as Ludo, Chess, Scrabble, Draft, Table tennis, Snooker, Handball, Aerobics, Football, and Horse racing. These activities promoted emotional intelligence, personal responsibility, and positive transformation among participants.

One of the highlights of the event was the donation of cheques to winners of the games, with a 7-year-old boy, Olojoku Bilal, stealing the show by defeating seasoned experts to win the golden prize. The crowd went wild as Bilal's name was announced, and he received his prize amidst cheers and applause.

In his speech, Amb Shola Ilyas Akanbi, the convener of the event, emphasized the importance of unity, socialization, and driving change among Kwara State's youth. "This isn't just a retreat – it's a call to action!" he declared. "Under His Excellency Mal Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's leadership, we've got opportunities to grow and lead. His Excellency shows us leadership is about kindness, respect, love, and humility."

Akanbi further stated, "It's the new broom that sweeps the corners... We're that new broom! Let's lead with love, listen with empathy, and build a brighter Kwara."

The event was a testament to the power of collaboration and the commitment of Kwara State's youth to drive positive change. As the retreat came to a close, participants left with renewed energy, inspired to take on the challenges of their communities and lead with purpose.
