1 Shot As Robbers Invade Shop In Kwara
Armed robbers have reportedly broken into a popular phone accessories shop in the Yakuba area of Iloriny, shot sporadically before carting away valuable items.
The incident, which occurred at Bestfil Gadgets Repair, located opposite the Immigration Office, was disrupted when a vigilante on duty confronted the gang and shot one of the suspects, later identified as Olawale Ibrahim.
It was gathered that the hoodlums broke through the wall of the building to gain entry and made away with several gadgets.
Some of the recovered items include an AirPod, about 10 power banks, and burglary tools, including a digger concealed in a bag, among others.
The shop owner, Mr. Hamzat Olukunmi, was said to have contacted the police when he was alerted.
Confirming the incident, Police spokeswoman, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the injured suspect was arrested, adding that he confessed to the crime during interrogation.
“Discreet investigation is ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the gang,” she said.
