Charles Folayan Heads the Presidential Initiative for the Empowerment of Young Farmers (The Green Money Project)

The Ekan-Meje born youth leader and former Technical Assistant in the Presidency on Youth and Student Affairs Charles Olufemi Folayan has been appointed as the Coordinator of the Federal Government’s Green Money Project. This initiative, aimed at empowering Nigerian youth through agriculture, seeks to foster innovation and growth in the agricultural sector.

Folayan, widely known as Asoju Odo, was the YPP House of Representatives candidate for the Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections. The Green Money Project, a presidential initiative, is designed to empower young Nigerians by equipping them with skills and tools for modern agricultural practices, mechanization, climate-smart farming, and digital technologies. The project aims to nurture the development of agribusinesses, enabling youth to thrive in the agricultural sector.

The project was initiated by the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Agriculture, in collaboration with the Re-Orientation Advocacy of Nigeria (RAN), and is being implemented in partnership with several key federal ministries, departments, and agencies, including:
