Fresh Graduate And UNILORIN Student Arrested For Producing, Selling Drug-Laced Cupcakes

In a shocking development, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two young individuals for their alleged involvement in the production and sale of drug-laced cupcakes. The suspects, identified as 24-year-old Khadijat Abdulraheem, a fresh graduate, and Ayomide Morakinyo, a 20-year-old student of the University of Ilorin, were apprehended on Sunday, December 29, 2024, along Tanke-University of Ilorin Road, Oke Odo, Ilorin.

According to credible intelligence, the duo was reportedly supplying these drug-laced cupcakes to students in the local community. During a search of their apartment, NDLEA operatives recovered 42 pieces of the illicit drug-laced cupcakes.

Authorities have expressed concerns about the growing trend of disguising drugs in food items, particularly targeting young people. The NDLEA has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling drug abuse and trafficking in all forms to safeguard public health and safety.

Investigations into the case are ongoing, with the suspects expected to face legal actions upon the conclusion of the inquiry.
