PHOTOS: Community Urges Kwara Gov't To Rescue Deteriorating School

The residents of Onire district in Alapa have called on the Kwara state government to address the deplorable state of Government Secondary School (GSS) Alapa.

According to Mr. Saka Muhyideen, a concerned resident, the school's infrastructure is in a dire condition, posing a threat to the students' safety and education.

"The senior section of the school has 10 classrooms, one exam hall, and an administrative building, but only one classroom is in good condition, while the remaining nine are in a state of disrepair. During the rainy season, students are forced to stop classes and move to the single functional classroom, as the roofs of the other classrooms cannot withstand the rain."

Mr. Muhyideen praised the current administration of Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for renovating one classroom and a administrative block during his first term in office but emphasized the need for further intervention to address the school's overall infrastructure. He appealed to the government to fast-track the necessary developments to build future leaders.

Attached are pictures showing the deplorable state of the school's classrooms.
