In a remarkable display of commitment to the welfare of his people, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Budget and Research, and MHR representing the good people of Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency of Kwara State, Hon. Mohammed Omar Bio, received the FG's Rice Palliative supply from the contractor, Alh. Maruff Ajibolu.

During the handover event at the Nigeria Police Divisional HQ, Ilesha-Baruba, in Baruten LGA of Kwara State, the contractor, Alh. Maruff Ajibolu described Hon. Bio as a selfless and hardworking representative, emphasizing the personal sacrifices made by Hon. Bio, who, at some point, even contributed to the transportation of the palliative when we had sudden upward review of the transportation charges.

"I celebrate you, the good people of Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency of Kwara State for exceptional representative, Hon. Mohammed Omar Bio, who Allah has bestowed in your constituency. I want to emphasize that my admiration for him is not influenced by his presence here today. Hon. Bio stands out as a dedicated and hardworking Member of the House of Representatives. While I am involved in managing palliatives for several other Members of the House, Hon. Bio is the only one who consistently goes beyond his comfort zone to ensure that the needs of his people and constituency are met. On 3 separate occasions, he visited my office and personally accompanied me to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to oversee the procurement process for the palliatives. Hon. Bio's selflessness and willingness to make personal sacrifices for the welfare of his constituents are truly remarkable. There were even instances where he contributed from his own pocket to facilitate the transportation of the palliatives down to this place (Ilesha-Baruba), " Alh. Maruff expressed.

Expressing his gratitude while receiving the delivery of the palliative from the contractor, Hon. Bio extended his heartfelt appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the timely intervention, providing much-needed relief to the people through the distribution of rice palliative.

The lawmaker, in a show of transparency and fairness, entrusted the palliative to critical stakeholders for fair distribution to lucky beneficiaries. He emphasized the importance of non-discrimination, urging stakeholders to ensure fairness and justice in the distribution formula, regardless of tribe, religion, or political affiliations.

"On behalf of the good people of Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency of Kwara State, I gratefully acknowledge the receipt of this palliative and extend our heartfelt appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his timely intervention in alleviating the hardships faced by our people. Please convey our sincere gratitude to the President. With gratitude to God, I am entrusting this palliative to the critical stakeholders for onward distribution. I urge you (stakeholders) to ensure fairness in your distribution. While I will not interfere with the list of beneficiaries, I implore you to exercise prudence in your sharing formula. I task you all to ensure that the palliative reaches everyone in need. No individual should face discrimination based on political, religious, or tribal affiliations. The President, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the contractor, and I have fulfilled our responsibilities fairly, and now we entrust the remaining distribution to you (stakeholders) with a strong sense of fairness," Hon. Bio said.

This commendable effort underscores Hon. Bio's unwavering dedication to serving the people of Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency, reflecting his commitment to inclusive and equitable representation.
