Kwara2023: Popular Islamic Singer Labaika Reportedly Dumps APC

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, it was reported that popular Islamic singer cum politician, Alhaji Ibrahim Labaika has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara to New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Labaika, who is a brother to the Kwara state governor, Mall Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, from the same political ward, Adewole Ward of Ilorin West local government area, was also an aspirant for the Ilorin NorthWest (Ajikobi/Alanamu) state constituency seat at Kwara State House of Assembly from the ruling APC in the last primaries.
The news, as broken and shared across social media platforms by the handlers of the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Prof. Abdulraheem Oba alongside a group photograph having the House of Representatives candidate for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, Alhaji Ope Saraki and other candidates, reads as follows “Breaking News: Former house of assembly aspirant for Ilorin NorthWest Constituency (Ajikobi/Alanamu) under the platform of APC and also foremost Islamic musician ALHAJI IBRAHIM LABAEKA defect to NNPP”.
