2023: Waziri Gobir Emerges Kwara YPP Guber Candidate (Photos)
Waziri Yakubu Gobir has Emerged as the Gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, in Kwara State ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election.
Gobir emergence as the YPP flagbearer was unopposed as all the delegates from sixteen local government areas of the Kwara through a voice vote confirmed the nomination of Waziri Yakubu Gobir as the sole candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial election.
The affirmation vote took place at the Young Progressives Party, (YPP) state Secretariat on Saturday, in Ilorin, it was witnessed by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Resident Electoral Commission, represented by Abdulkadiri Shehu Ahmad and the chairman of YPP North central, Muhammed Tusarik.
Mr Tusarik, who conducted the affirmation vote, declared Gobir as the governorship candidate of YPP to stand in the 2023 governorship election in the state.
He said, Waziri Yakubu Gobir, having scored the majority of votes cast, is hereby declared the winner of the YPP governorship primary election in Kwara state.
After Tusariki announced Yakubu Gobir winner of the process, the candidate thanked all those who made the process of the party’s primary success.
Mr Gobir thanked all the party leaders, members and delegates for believing in him and his aspirations to move the state forward.
He, however, commended the peaceful conduct of the primary.
