70-Year-Old Man Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Defiling Three Minors

The Jigawa State High Court sitting in Kazaure on Thursday sentenced a 70-year-old man, Alto Ado, to life imprisonment for defiling three girls.
On October 14, 2020, the accused was detained for allegedly enticing two youngsters, ages seven and nine, into an unfinished building in Kazaure town and forcibly having unlawful sexual intercourse with them.
The defendant, a watchman, was eventually apprehended and charged with rape in court.
In order to prove the case, the prosecution called five witnesses to testify against the suspect.
Rape is punishable under Section 3 of the Penal Code (Miscellaneous Amendment) Law, according to the presiding judge, Justice Hussaina Adamu Aliyu.
While delivering the decision, the court stated that the evidence offered by the prosecution counsel proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Ado was therefore sentenced to life imprisonment.
