Insecurity: DSS Gives Security Tips, Charges KOPAN On Professionalism
Following the activities of evil perpetrators on rampage in the country, the Department of State Services (DSS) today revealed tips to a safe and secured living.
In an interface with the Kwara Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (KOPAN) in Ilorin Kwara State capital, the State Director of the Service advised Nigerians to shun moving around at night as most criminal act are committed at night.
The Director also charged the people to always notify a trusted one before embarking on any trip, this according to him will proffer a clue in case of kidnap or other evil occurrences.
He said it is pertinent to associate with neighbours in the community saying, "the best form of security is provided by a friendly environment".
He solicited for modesty pointing out that, bragging or boasting about one's achievements could easily attract monitoring of the evil ones.
The Director who encouraged being kind and nice at all times warned against revealing one's secret to people as average human being is wicked.
He admonished all and sundry to prioritize having a trained dog at home, stressing that a well trained dog is endowed with the quality of perceiving criminal elements at least 2 kilometers away, then bark to alert the owner of the looming evil.
He said the enemies of the country are many but glad, there are laws against every unlawful assembly, assuring that all evil perpetrators will definitely face the wrath of the law.
He however tasked members of KOPAN to build their careers on the path of honesty and integrity, submitting that journalists are critical stakeholders in curbing crimes and criminalities in the country.
Responding, the Chairman of the association, Ogbeni Hammed Adedayo Said, reiterated the readiness of KOPAN to partner with the security outfit for optimum performance in fighting crime and promoting the state.
