Saraki’s Ally, Tunji Buhari Joins APC in Kwara
Mallam Tunji Buhari, a loyalist of former Senate President Bukola Saraki is set to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, a few months after dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the reports, the official decamping program is billed to hold at the Awodi Market, Gambari Area, Ilorin by 4:00pm on Wednesday.
Buhari had served as the PDP’s Organising Secretary until his resignation.
He had previously held the post of an executive of Kwara state chapter of the defunct Congress For Progressive Change (CPC), and also served as the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) when it was newly formed.
A close ally of Buhari while reacting to the defection said “it has absolutely nothing to do with Saraki. He still has immense respect for his former boss and he is forever grateful to him”.
Although party sources claimed he resigned due to unresolved party crisis which birthed the PDP Reconciliation Committee set up in the state.
It was also gathered that more notable figures from the opposition PDP are expected to cross over to the APC in the coming days in Kwara.
