Women In AgricBusiness Visits VERSA Farm, Pledges Support For Young Farmers In Okeya
The Women In Agric Business (WIAB) on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to VERSA FARMS Okeya Ipo in Irepodun local government of Kwara state.
WIAB, an empowerment group for women in Agriculture was led by the Founder and National Coordinator Comrade Tajudeen Saheed who is also an indigene of Okeya Ipo during the familiarization visit promised to partner VERSA with the view of increasing their capacity.
The group met one of the farm Agronomist Mr Oluwaseun and a supervisor Mr Christopher Barley who took the group round the farm facilities including nusries and main farm to understand the operations of the farm.
The Chairperson of the group Mrs Rebecca Oluwatoyin Ajala ,a retired Educationist and now an Agriculturist expressed her happiness for Okeya Community for having such huge Investiment in the town and appeal to all sundry to support the owner of the farm and others who may intend to bring such into the community in future.
Also speaking the group Founder Comrade Saheed said "I am delighted that the farm is giving employment to our youths especially during this pandemic holiday".
Saheed also promised to assist the management of the farm and Okeya Community as a retired Agric officer with the Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture.
The team later visited Sugarcane rebirth plots of another Entrepreneur Alhaji Waheed Ibrahim where they all agree Okeya Community is bless with Agriculture potential and that easily facilitate rapid and fast development.
