Updates On Kwara APC Ward Congress In Details
APC members injured in Budo Egba, Asa local government, while hoodlums disrupt congress in Share, Ifelodun local government
Scores of APC members were injured today at the ongoing ward congress of the party in Budo Egba ward of Asa local government which led to the disruption of the process in that ward.
Those injured included one Isiaka Saliu.
In Share wards 1 and 2, the ward congress which was held at the CAC primary school turned violent when a faction of the party insisted on relying on a doctored list as the outcome of the congress.
Police which were present in good numbers eventually dispersed party faithful after hoodlums had shot severally and free threw broken bottles.
APC faction insists on voting in Oko-Erin ward as parallel congresses held in Ibagun
As at 2:30pm this day we gathered that voting has not taken place in Oko-Erin ward of Ilorin West local government area of the state.
Our reporters gathered that a faction loyal to the senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki was deploying all tricks to allow for adoption of its prepared list of executive members.
The other faction led by Hon. Ayooola Obisesan insisted that that democratic process that allows for voting must be religiously favored.
As early as 10am, two lists have emerged in Ibagun ward of Ilorin East local government area; where a faction loyal to former Chief of Staff to Dr. Saraki, Alhaji Saka Cook Olododo had a list and that of Dr. Bukola Saraki produced another one. Voting therefore was held in more than one place in Ibagun ward of Ilorin West.
And until few minutes ago, when this report was filed voting were still ongoing at Baboko ward.
Kwara CP invites scribe of APC factions as congress was disrupted in Tsaragi and other places
The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command has invited scribes of the two factions in the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a meeting in his office this evening.
Those expected are Alhaji Abdulganiyu Saka and Chief Bode Adekanye.
According to reports the Police high command in the state has decided to wade into the crisis rocking the party at ensuring that peace enjoyed by the residents is not disrupted.
In a short SMS sent to news men, a factional chairman, Hon. Olayemi Olabanji said his faction of the party is interested in peace but will never be reduced to harmonization in a process that shut party loyalists out.
"The minimum we can take is for this congress to be cancelled. We are peace loving people but will be never be tricked to any submission that will endorse the charade that went on everywhere today.
