Kwara Rebirth Ambassadors Group Demands Forensic Audit Of Harmony Holdings Limited

While it is commendable that finally sense of reasoning have prevailed, as shown in the disguised prodding into the books of Harmony Holdings Ltd, which supervises all juicy properties of Kwara State.

However, going through the resolutions of the investigation into the management of Harmony Holdings, we can't but marvel at the abracadabra as seen in the outcome of the report that took more than 6 months.

Without fear or favour, we want to state categorically that the House's investigation is nothing but a poorly executed hatchet job.

While we won't hold brief for any of the indicted persons or companies, we enjoin the House of Assembly to be serious for once and stop the comedy-like lawmaking it has been doing since the inception of the 8th Assembly.

With information at our disposal, the Ali Ahmad led House of Assembly lacks the moral right to investigate a crime majority of its members were active partakers.

It would be recalled the legislative quarters was monetised for members of the 7th Assembly under the most ridiculous paltry sum of 3 million naira, while land in that estate cost nothing less than 15 million naira.

Ali Ahmad who sits as the Speaker today also benefited from the corruption infested monetisation policy of the government, as he bought the land he built his palatial mansion for a give away price of #3 million even while the cost of land in the area cost nothing less than #35 million.

On the issues of Bubbles the House failed to look into the lease agreement of other equally government, we have ADP leased to the former Special Assistant to the Governor of Kwara State, Alh. Toyin Olokooba, Kwara Special Guest House on No. 5 catchment leased to one Kayode Hassan and Kwara KIPDC leased to a former Commissioner of Justice in the State among others.

These have shown that major actors in the successive Government of the State (Executive and Legislative) all benefited from the continuous pilfering of our collective patrimony.

OUR DEMANDS

1. We demand the constitution of an independent team of crack investigators to conduct a forensic audit of Harmony Holdings from inception till date.
2. Complete profiling of all lands and properties sold by Kwara State, since 2003 till date.
3. We demand the House of Assembly publishes the full report of its investigative committee.
4. Cessation to sale of government owned lands and properties until full investigation is concluded.
