Eid al-Adha 2026: Sarkin Gobir Congratulates Muslim Ummah, Calls for Unity and Peace
The Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin Emirate and Wazirin Kasar Hausa, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria and the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid al-Adha celebration, urging the faithful to uphold the values of peace, sacrifice, and unity.
In a statement made available to the press on Wednesday, Alhaji Gobir described Eid al-Adha as a sacred period that symbolizes obedience, devotion, and compassion, stressing the need for Muslims to continue demonstrating love and support for one another.
He congratulated the Muslim Ummah for witnessing another Eid celebration and called on Nigerians to use the season to pray for the peace, stability, and progress of the country.
“Eid al-Adha is a season of sacrifice, reflection, and gratitude to Almighty Allah. I urge all Muslims to continue promoting peace, unity, tolerance, and mutual understanding in our communities and across the nation,” he stated.
The Madawaki of Ilorin further appealed to political leaders and citizens to embrace dialogue, patience, and collective responsibility in addressing the nation’s challenges.
According to him, the significance of Eid goes beyond celebration, noting that it should inspire acts of kindness, generosity, and concern for the less privileged in society.
“As we celebrate with our families and loved ones, let us remember those in need and extend a helping hand to them. That is the true spirit of Eid,” Alhaji Gobir added.
He prayed for Allah’s continued blessings upon Nigeria and wished Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid al-Adha celebration.
Eid Mubarak.
