Turbaning: Sarkin Gobir Felicitates 13th Balogun Ajikobi, Praises Emir of Ilorin’s Wisdom
The Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has congratulated the Ilorin Emirate and the Ajikobi community on the successful turbaning of Alhaji Sulyman Kayode Abdulwahab as the 13th Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin Emirate.
In a statement, Alhaji Gobir described the historic ceremony as a testament to the foresight and wisdom of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, in strengthening the traditional institution of the emirate.
He noted that the selection of Alhaji Sulyman Kayode Abdulwahab reflects the Emir’s commitment to appointing individuals of integrity, capacity, and dedication to community service, adding that the new Balogun Ajikobi is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to peace, unity, and development within the Ajikobi community and the wider Ilorin Emirate.
Alhaji Gobir further commended the Emir of Ilorin for his consistent efforts in preserving the cultural heritage and stability of the emirate through purposeful leadership and timely decisions.
He urged the newly turbaned Balogun Ajikobi to uphold the noble traditions of the Ilorin Emirate, serve the people with humility and fairness, and justify the confidence reposed in him.
The Sarkin Gobir prayed for divine guidance, wisdom, and good health for Alhaji Sulyman Kayode Abdulwahab as he assumes his new role, while wishing the Emir of Ilorin continued strength and longevity in leading the affairs of the Ilorin Emirate.
