The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the release of 48 men earlier arrested along the Alade–Oreke axis in Oke-Ode, following an intelligence-led operation on September 4, 2025.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the suspects were intercepted while riding in clusters on 14 motorcycles. Security operatives recovered 43 mobile phones and other personal belongings from them.

The Command disclosed that the individuals underwent extensive profiling, including criminal intelligence analysis, digital forensic examinations of their phones, call records, communication trails, transaction history, and geo-location mapping to establish possible links to kidnapping, banditry, or organized crime.

“After exhaustive technical profiling and background checks, no incriminating evidence or criminal affiliations were established against the suspects. Consequently, all 48 individuals have been duly released this morning,” the statement read.

The Command emphasized that the operation was conducted with utmost professionalism and respect for human rights, assuring the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to acting swiftly on intelligence while avoiding unjust criminalization of innocent citizens.
