Gobir Commends President Tinubu’s Choice of Dr. Shema for FCDA Chairmanship
The Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin Emirate and Wazirin Kasar Hausa, Alhaji (Dr) Yakubu Garba Gobir, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema, CON, FNIM, Sarkin Yaki Kasar Hausa, on his recent appointment as the Chairman of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
In a statement issued on Friday, Alhaji Gobir described the appointment as a “fitting recognition of Dr. Shema’s unwavering commitment to public service, his sterling leadership legacy, and his deep-rooted patriotism.”
He noted that Dr. Shema’s remarkable service as a former Governor of Katsina State, coupled with his traditional roles and contributions to the grassroot communities, uniquely position him to bring transformative leadership to the FCDA—an institution crucial to the ongoing development of Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
“This appointment is a commendable step by Mr. President,” Alhaji Gobir said, “and I have no doubt that Dr. Shema will bring to bear his visionary outlook and administrative expertise for the progress of Abuja and the nation at large.”
Sarkin Gobir also used the opportunity to extend his warm regards and congratulations to the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Abdulmumin Kabir Usman, and the Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Umar Farouk Umar, CFR, describing the appointment of one of their illustrious sons as a source of great pride for Katsina State.
He concluded by praying for Almighty Allah’s continued guidance and wisdom for Dr. Shema in his new role, while calling on all stakeholders to support him in achieving meaningful development for the benefit of all Nigerians.
