Kwara For Kwarans Initiative Launches Anti-Colos Campaign Across Ilorin
The Kwara for Kwarans Initiative has taken a bold step in tackling social issues in Kwara State with the launch of an anti-Colos campaign. Posters bearing the slogan "Say No To Colos" have been spotted in various locations across Ilorin, including A-Division Bridge, Former SARS Gate, Unity Junction leading to Offa Garage, Poly Gate, Soludero Park, Gaa-Akanbi Area and several other areas.
Residents in areas like Tanke Junction and Post Office have expressed appreciation for the initiative, citing concerns about the prevalence of Colos consumption in their communities. A local vocational shop owner even offered space on his premises for the posters, highlighting the issue's severity around Tanke Junction at night. He pointed out a girl who had reportedly lost her sanity due to Colos consumption.
Residents of Forest Inn Street in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) also welcomed the initiative, lamenting about the nuisance caused by individuals under the influence of Colos. They mentioned sleepless nights due to the erratic behavior of Colos users.
The Kwara for Kwarans Initiative is expanding its campaign to other senatorial districts, focusing on school areas. They urge the public to join the fight against social ills for a healthier Kwara State.
Amb Anjorin Babatunde, Convener of Kwara for Kwarans Initiative, emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in addressing societal issues. He stated that while law enforcement agencies like the NDLEA and Nigerian Police play crucial roles, individuals must also contribute to creating a better society through personal decisions.
This initiative aligns with the Kwara State Government's efforts to promote social welfare and development. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administration has shown commitment to improving living standards.
