Senator Saliu Mustapha Grieves Over Imam Sahban's Death


The Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has expressed grief over the demise of a prominent Islamic cleric and founder of Muhydeen College of Education, Sheikh Abdullahi Jubril Imam Sahban.

Mustapha who is the Turaki of Ilorin in a statement issued from his media office in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital said “ It is with a deep sense of sorrow that I received the news of the passing of Sheikh Abdullahi Jubril Imam Sahban, the visionary founder of Muhydeen College of Arabic and Islamic Studies.

“Sheikh Abdullahi Jubril Imam Sahban made significant contributions to the advancement of Islamic education in Kwara State. He dedicated himself to providing numerous students with the resources they needed to practice and propagate Islam efficiently and extensively”, he said.

While sympathizing with the immediate family of the late prominent Islamic cleric, the council of ulamas , the Emir of Ilorin and the government of Kwara state, the Turaki of Ilorin, said his legacy would continue to inspire and guide generations to come. 

According to him, “ In this moment of grief, I extend my condolences to the family of Sheikh Sahban, including his students from all walks of life. I pray to Almighty Allah to grant them all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. 

“I equally condole with His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin and the Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers in Kwara state, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari , the entire Council of Ulamas, and all sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate over Sheikh Shaban's demise.

Mustapha therefore prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him jannatul firdaus.
