By Adedayo Said

The YPP House of Reps Candidate for the Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency Charles Olufemi Folayan (Asoju Odo) has again reiterated his commitment to developing young sport stars across communities in his constituency, when elected.

Asoju Odo made this known at the final match and presentation of prizes for the winners of inter-compound sports competition hosted by Asoju Odo Football Club in his country home Ekan-Meje on the new year eve.

The House of Reps hopeful said he has in his manifesto to revive community sports club and social groups when elected. He assured young people that he would provide them the necessary facilities and materials needed to thrive in sports.

He said, sport is the main connecting point for the young people and would drastically reduce rate of crimes and social vices if given appropriate attention. He lamented on the high rate of drug abuse and teenage pregnancy which he said was aggravated by lack of education and social engagements. He promised to revive sports and social clubs across communities

“I want to sincerely commend the effort of all of you here that have taken your time to participate in this competition. We must continue to do this every year against all odds.

“You should all pray and work towards our ambition, because it would give us more opportunities to do better. I know the value of grassroot sport. I’m committed to developing it and provide all necessary facilities and materials when elected.

“This is the main thing now connecting most of us. It would also help reduce high rate of crimes and social vices. It’s sad that drug abuse and teenage pregnancy is now rampant and that’s why we must step up our game on education and social re-orientation. We would make it a duty to invest in sport and social clubs across communities, when elected.
