JUST IN: Police, Vigilantes Rescue Two Victims In Fresh Kidnap In Kwara

The operatives of the Nigerian police force and local vigilantes group have rescued two persons from a fresh Kidnap in Osi, Kwara State.

The victims, according to reports, were kidnapped between Obbo-Ile and Araromi-Opin in the Osi area of the state.

Speaking with KWARAREPORTERS NEWS, a resident, (name withheld) said the kidnappers stormed the area around 5pm, on Monday.

He said, "The kidnappers still abducted some people today (Monday) along Obbo-Ile road. And the total numbers of people abducted are yet unknown.

"Around 5pm in evening immediately the Governor convoy left the environment, a guy name Suleiman Yahaya whose job is panelpitteer and logger man was coming back from farm with his planks between Obbo Ile to Araromi Opin in Osi Area when he was attacked and was abducted. Because the guy once had an accident and one of his legs is not fit to walk a long distance, I guessed that slowed their movement in the bush."

He added that he was threatened to bring his phone and some money in his hand before they discharged him.

He further said; "After a while, we visited the site and another vehicle was seen empty in that same spot where someone said they had kidnapped all the passengers in that vehicle. We were told that the driver was attacked with Cutlass but he was released to go."

"We are in serious danger in the entire Ekiti Local Government. People were saying that until their leader called Dogo, one of the Bororos by tribe is arrested, we can't be at peace in this environment," he concluded.

The state Police spokesperson, SP. Ajayi Okasanmi, in a telephone conversation with KWARAREPORTERS NEWS confirmed the fresh attack.

"Men of the Nigerian police force in collaboration with the local vigilantes are in the forest in pursuit of the kidnappers. No arrest has been made but two victims were rescued," he said.
