Dignitaries Attend Funeral Service Of Kwara Gov. Wife Sister, Oluseunre Davies (Photos)
It was an evening of tributes and outpouring of emotions on Thursday 20th of October 2021 at the Christian Wake and Service of Songs in memory of Late Mrs. Oluseunre Davies-Babatunde.
While extolling the virtues of late Mrs Oluseunre at the event, the first lady of Kwara State and Founder Ajike People Support Center Ambassador Dr. Olufolake Abdulrazaq described her late younger sister as not only a caring and loving woman but also smart, empathetic and accommodating.
Earlier, the officiating priest at the service Reverend Father Richard Odok pointed out that every soul wishes to enter heaven, but non wishes to die and said death is inevitable and there is need to prepare for it, he urged the congregation to always live life worthy of emulation like Mrs. Oluseunre Davies-Babatunde.
The secretary to the Kwara State Government professor Maman Shaba Jubril spoke on the inevitability of death and prayed to God for the repose of the soul of the deceased and fortitude for the family to bear the irreparable loss.
Highlight of the event included the special choir performances led by Mr Demola Olota, rendition of a special number by a niece of the deceased and a sombre traditional performance by Kwara Seuol 2021 cultural troupe.
The late Mrs. Oluseunre Folasade Davies-Babatunde until her death was an Assistant Director at the National Orientation Agency, Lagos State Directorate.
The Service of songs of late Mrs Oluseunre Davies-Babatunde was witnessed by siblings, family members, friends and dignitaries which included the Executive Governor of Kwara State Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq, the Mutawali of Ilorin Dr. Alimi Abdulrazaq, Wife of the Speaker House of Representatives Hajia Salamatu Gbajabiamila , First Lady of Lagos State Mrs Ibijoke Sanwolu, Wife of former Kwara State governor Hajia Aishat Mohammed Lawal, wives of speaker and deputy speaker Kwara State House of Assembly,, Kwara State Commissioners of Health and Women Affairs, Executive Secretary Kwara Health Insurance Agency, Executive Secretary Kwara State Primary Healthcare Board,Representatives of National Orientation Agency, Members of Methodist Girls High School OGA, Lagos State among others.
The remains of the sister to wife of the Kwara State Governor, Mrs Oluseunre Davies-Babatunde and an Assistant Director with the National Orientation Agency NOA Lagos State Directorate was committed to mother earth with family, friends and associates paying their last respect to her on Friday 21st October 2021 at the Ikoyi cemetery, after a funeral mass at the St. Dominics Catholic Church.
Earlier at the funeral mass, the Priest in-charge of Saint Dominics Catholic, Church, Yaba, Lagos State, Reverend Father Charles Onwondi affirmed that the death of virtuous ones may seem like disaster or destruction to the unbelievers but the souls of the righteous are In the hand of God hence mankind should prepare for end time.
The final burial of Late Mrs. Oluseunre Davies-Babatunde had in attendance the former Bishop of Ilorin Diocese, Bishop Emeritus Ayo Maria Atoyebi, the Onilado of Ilado and Inagbe Islands and two members of his Council of Chiefs, Reverend Father Iletogbe representing the current Bishop of Ilorin Diocese, representatives of the deputy governor of Kwara State Mr Kayode Alabi, Kwara State Commissioners of Health and Women's Affairs, Executive Secretary, Kwara Health Insurance Agency, Executive Secretary Kwara State Primary Healthcare Board, representatives of Lagos State First Lady amongst others.
