Kwara PDP Felicitates Christians On Christmas, Urges Them To Emulate Jesus

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State has rejoiced with Christians in the State and across the country as they celebrate Christmas, urging them to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ.
A statememt by the Kwara PDP State Chairman, Hon. Kola Shittu, noted that "despite the challenges confronting us individually and as a people, there are still enough reasons for us to celebrate, and also thank God for the gift of life and His mercies on us."
The party enjoined the Christian faithful to reflect on the lessons and teachings of Jesus Christ and also emulate his virtues of love, sacrifice, forgiveness and compassion to make the world a better place.
It also called on all Nigerians to use the occasion to offer special prayers for peace and socio-economic development of the country.
Meanwhile, the party has sympathised with victims of yesterday's fuel tanker explosion in Jebba, Moro local government area of the State, describing the incident as unfortunate and heartrending.
The Kwara PDP Chairman said: "We are shocked and saddened by the news of the unfortunate and heartrending fuel tanker explosion in Jebba on Wednesday which claimed lives and destroyed property.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and also sympathise with those whose property were affected by the fire. We pray that God comfort the bereaved families and also restore whatever the victims had lost, while also calling on the State Government and other relevant agencies to come to the aid of the victims."
