Again, Rep Ajuloopin Empowers Constituents With Industrial Sewing Machine

Rep Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, representing Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency has again distributed industrial sewing machine to 12 members of his constituency as a way of boosting their level of productivity and income.

Ajuloopin, who is the House Committee Chairman on Emergency and Disaster Preparedness, represents the constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Each of the beneficiaries, mostly fashion designers, which cut across the four councils in the constituency, were presented with an industrial sewing machine each and certificates after an intensive training aimed at upgrading their production capacities.

The training, which was facilitated by Olawuyi’s constituency office in Omu-Aran, was also in collaboration with Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), Abuja, and Bizerve Nigeria Ltd.

The empowerment project which was initially designed to cover the entire 42 wards of the constituency at a stretch was done in batches as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and state government directive on social gatherings.

No fewer than 10 beneficiaries had earlier received their working tools across the wards under the same project in February.

Olawuyi, during the presentation at the constituency office in Omu-Aran said it was meant to upgrade the capacities of the targeted beneficiaries for them to be more productive and self reliance.

Ajuloopin stated that tailoring had gone beyond relying solely on Butterfly machine, adding that there was need to ensure productivity with the industrial sewing machine in the constituency.

The lawmaker said that the empowerment was also part of a larger project plan designed to promote entrepreneurship development, skills and vocations and also a critical tool for human capital development.

“This is in fulfillment of the promises to our people during the electioneering to always interact with them, share in their difficulties and challenges and above all to be alive to their yearnings and aspirations at all times.

"The distribution of this particular working tools has a unique distinctive feature as it is quite different from ordinary sewing machines around.

"This is a modern industrial sewing machines with capacities for higher production and turnover within a short period.

"The essence is to improve and upgrade the capacities of our artisans by exposing them to new innovations and technologies in their line of trade and other activities.

"This distribution of working tools will not be limited to the fashion designers alone but other relevant trade and business activities of our constituents.

"We want them to learn new techniques, innovations and ideas, which will in turn boost their capacities in terms of production and income generation.

"Our people have suffered neglect for a long period, they deserved to be empower, they deserved to be encouraged that is exactly what we are doing.

" We have enough of this industrial machines to go round the wards and by God's grace the distribution will continue in batches as we maintain the government's social distancing directive," he said.

Ajuloopin urged the beneficiaries to ensure optimum utilisation of the items so as to serve its intended purpose and objectives.

Chief Sunday Olosunde, an APC stalwart in Ekiti Local Government of the state, in his remarks at the presentation, described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of the constituency.

"We have many representative in the constituency in the time past but I want to say we are richly blessed and endowed to have someone like Rep Ajuloopin at this critical time.

" Rep has demonstrated in many capacities since assuming office such sterling qualities expected of a good leader and I pray for God's divine grace, guidance and protection for him to continue in that regard.

"I want to urge the beneficiaries of today to see their selection for this benefit as a unique opportunity to develop themselves and be self productive and reliance.

"To others still waiting for their turn I want to assure everyone that Rep Olawuyi is a man of his words and stick to his promise in ensuring that no ward is left out.

"You only need to exercise patient and keep on praying for our Rep member for more successes and achievements," he said.

Hon. Yemi Aransiola, the APC Chairman in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state, commended Ajuloopin for being a role model and a good ambassador of the party through his people oriented programmes and initiatives.

Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mr Ajiboye Kola from Omu-Aran and Mrs Damilola Sameul from Iloffa commended Olawuyi for his foresight and described the gesture as highly beneficial and timely.
