Kwara Lawmaker, Owolabi Condemns Police-NSCDC Clashes In Ilorin
Shaare-OkeOde state constituency, Honourable Abdulrasaq Owolabi, has berated security personnel, especially officers of the Police Force and those of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for failing to work hand in hand and accord each other regard during today’s sanitation exercise.
He also rebuked them for taking advantage of their office to violate the environmental sanitation guidelines when they should be observing the exercise in their various homes.
The condemnation came after men of the NSCDC on duty at Post Office, had a physical confrontation with a police man who was returning home in the morning after night duty.
The disagreement led to physical assaults and gun threats. There was a gunshots at the scene to disperse the crowd.
The Police Command ordered for reinforcement in order to restore orderliness.
While ensuring that a policeman was arraigned before the mobile court at Pipeline junction, the lawmaker warned that the present administration will not condone any excesses from any individual no matter how highly placed.
KYC Coordinator, Oyin-Zubair also decried the various clashes between security agencies which was also witnessed at Tipper Garage and Pipeline junction where there were road blocks to restrict movement.
