GSS Ilorin Students Protest: Group Call For Immediate Resignation Of Kwara State Commissioner For Education

The All Progressive Youth Forum (APYF) Kwara State chapter has called for the immediate resignation of the Kwara state Commissioner for Education, Hajia bilikisu Oniyangi over the negligence of the Kwara state Government and the lackadaisical attitude of the state Ministry of Education on the poor welfare and plights of the students of Government Secondary School Ilorin who are on exchange programme.

The group in a press statement issued by it state coordinator Comrade Tunde Salau said;

"It could be recalled that the students over the weekend had embarked on protest barricading the Old Jebba Road in front of the school gate to show their anger over their maltreatment by the state government and the state Ministry of Education as regards the detestable nature of their feeding and the avoidable delay in conveying them back to their various states, there by causing them more hardship."

"The protest by the students is an indication that the PDP led government is not interested in the educational development of the state, hence responsible for the total collapse of the education sector."

"Kwara APYF also demand for an unreserved apology from the Kwara state government for creating an unnecessary embarrassment against the good people of the state, who are committed in paying their taxes and expected such taxes be judiciously used for the benefit of the people of the state, rather than bringing shame to the people, as the one brought about the protest of the innocent students of GSS Ilorin."
