KWARA APC CONGRESS: Asa LG Nominee Rejects Saraki's Nomination, Declares Support For Bolarinwa
The Kwara State congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that was held at the Arca Santa Arena earlier today received an unprecedented success with large turn out.
In a statement released in Ilorin on Saturday after the event, the newly elected publicity secretary of the party in the state, Kayode Oyin-Zubair said the congress was not only successful but unprecedented in the annals of party politics in the state.
"The congress was not only successful but unprecedented in the annals of party congress in the state. One of our members in the last executive committee from Asa local government, Alhaji Raheem Akore served diligently as the assistant organising secretary and he became the darling of all.
"At a meeting last night at the Iloffa residence of Dr. Bukola Saraki, Alhaji Akore was one of the few billed to return to their former offices. He was not only advised to report at the venue by 8am through a text message by former secretary but felicitated with ahead of today.
"The meeting where Akore was endorsed to return was gloomy for the likes of Alhaji Adesina, the man who took Biodun Baba to court for allegedly daring to abuse his godfather on facebook. The former secretary too was dropped but Akore's case was different.
"Akore in the usual character of a democrat and progressive politician stayed away from the Banquet Hall parallel congress and joined other democrats at the Arca Santa arena."
"This is the type of sacrifice every forward looking progressive must take in the struggle to restore hope and integrity to the party thereby creating a prosperous state that will be a pride of all.
"In another development, an item trying to devalue our newly elected chairman has been circulating in the social media.
"The smear campaign against Honorable Bashir Bolarinwa is too cheap and can only fit for the trash bin.
"For the purpose of the record Bolarinwa was a member of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and became a member of the APC when the marger was consumed".
According to the State Publicity Secretary, Kayode Oyin-Zubair said in 2014; Bolarinwa was a member of the screening Committee chosen by the national secretariat of the party and the committee was saddled with the responsibility of resolving crisis in Bayelsa State.
"Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa is currently on the board of Lagos University Teaching hospital ".
