Uncollected Refuse Litter Post Office, Ilorin

This heap of waste is sighted in post office area of Ilorin, the kwara state capital. For sometimes now this waste have been constituting a serious odour nuisance with consequences ranging from rodents infestation, fly breeding, contamination of food and environmental unsightliness among others.

The primary purpose of taxation is to generate revenue that will support and enable government to keep up to his responsibility in term of infrastructure and provision of basic facilities with a view to improve the health and welfare of the tax payers. 

According to a passerby who we interviewed said "This refuse have been here for long and we thought we will see KWMC people to come and evacuate it but till now nothing has been done about it."

At this junction we want to plead on the government of Kwara state and the necessary agencies responsible for the evacuation of this waste should please treat this issue as a matter of urgency because the life of people is at risk. And just of recent death toll rises due to more cases of Lassa fever recorded in various state of the federation, and this is a major indicator of poor sanitary environment.
