Kwara for Kwarans Initiative Crowns Barr. Oba Magaji ‘Pillar of Kwara'


Kwara for Kwarans Initiative for Social Impact and Development has honored Hon. Barr. Oba Magaji AbdulKadir — BOMA, House Leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly and representative of Ilorin Central Constituency, with the prestigious “Pillar of Kwara” title.

The decoration ceremony was held at his office in the Kwara State House of Assembly, where Amb. Anjorin Babatunde, convener of the organization, led a team to confer the award. According to Amb. Anjorin, the recognition is a testament to Hon. Barr. Oba Magaji’s dedication to the people of Kwara State and his commitment to promoting good governance, accountability and transparency.


The organization chose Hon. Magaji for this esteemed honor because of his developmental strides and quality representation in the State Assembly. He has been instrumental in driving key initiatives that benefit the state and its citizens, and has led public hearings on important bills such as the Kwara State Electricity Power Sector Bill and the Kwara State Magistrate Court Bill. His legislative work focuses on good governance, accountability and transparency.

According to Amb. Oyediran Jamiu Opeyemi, Offa LGA Coordinator for Kwara for Kwarans, the House Leader has also spearheaded various empowerment programs, including the distribution of motorcycles, freezers, grinding machines, sewing machines and other entrepreneurial tools to constituents, as well as providing quality health services and cash gifts to people, including those living with disabilities. These initiatives demonstrate his commitment to improving the lives of Kwarans and empowering youth.

The recognition by Kwara for Kwarans Initiative is a charge to other leaders and individuals to follow in Hon. Magaji’s footsteps and work toward the betterment of Kwara State.
