Emir of Ilorin’s Spokesman, Arowona Abdulazeez Bags Another Traditional Title In Gombe
Mai Martaba Folo Dadiya and Chairman Dadiya Traditional Council of Gombe State, Alhaji Dr. Abdulkadir Abubakar Galadima lll on Thursday conferred the traditional title of Basiran Dadiya on the Managing Director/CEO of Emirate Radio 98.5 FM, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.
Arowona who is also the spokesman to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR is the Shettima of Okuta Emirate in Kwara State and Chikansoro Tangale in Gombe State respectively.
The monarch made announcement during the commissioning of the new radio station in Ilorin, noting that the decision was as a result of Arowona’s commitments and dedication to the promotion of traditional institutions in Nigeria.
He noted that the date of the turbaning will be announced in due course.
Meanwhile, professionals have been urged to uphold professionalism and ensure accuracy in their reportage.
Kwara Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who was represented by the state commissioner for communications, Mrs Bolanle Olukoju, said the establishment of the radio station is a good thing for the state.
According to him, the state government will continue to provide enabling environment for private businesses to thrive and flourish.
Governor AbdulRazaq advised the media professionals shun all acts that are capable of undermining the security situation in the state and the country in general.
In his lecture, Senior Adviser and Counselor to Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Saadudeen Salaudeen tasked newly launched Emirate Radio to be innovative and creative to drive traffic of audience to the station.
Alhaji Salaudeen who is veteran Broadcaster charged the new station to disregard imbalance reportage, disinformation and other acts capable of bringing the station to disrepute
The Guest Speaker paid glowing tributes to ace broadcasters who have contributed immensely to broadcasting industry in Kwara and eulogized the founder, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona for establishing the station.
In his remarks the National Coordinator of The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi said the event is a land mark that is supposed to be emulated .
He said the establishment of the radio stations has added to the information dissemination outfit in the state and advised them to avoid the habit of airing fake news and projecting the state and the country in bad light.
He urged the media owners to used the medium to champion the cause humanity.
