Royal Sensation Suspends Kwara Solar Mini-Grid Project Over Security Concerns

Royal Sensation Solar Energy Company has announced the temporary suspension of its ongoing solar mini-grid electrification project across several communities in Kwara State due to security advisories issued by relevant federal authorities.

In a formal notice addressed to His Royal Highness, the Babalukpada of Kpada, and copied to other community leaders, the company stated that the decision was taken in the interest of safety for residents, workers, and project assets.

The affected communities include Kpatagban, Guluka, Dzuruta, Lusaman, Wako, and Ebu, all within the Kpada area of Kwara State.

According to Engr. Chukwudi Okeke, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Sensation Solar Energy Company, the suspension became necessary following recent security developments in the region.

“The safety of lives, property, and infrastructure remains our top priority. We are working closely with security agencies and relevant authorities to ensure conditions are safe before resuming full operations,” Okeke said.

He further assured that project activities would recommence once security conditions improve and formal clearance is received from the federal authorities.

Royal Sensation Solar Energy Company also appealed for calm and cooperation from residents, urging them not to interfere with ongoing site materials or documentation pending the resumption of work.
