VIDEOS: Political Tension In Isin LGA As APC Stalwart Raises Alarm Over Attempted Arrest
A political stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, identified as Ogbeni Adewara, has raised a distress call over an alleged attempt to arrest him at his Omu-Aran residence.
According to reports, Adewara alleged that Hon. Alaka Mashood, Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, in collaboration with Hon. Ganiyat, Vice Chairman of Isin LGA, stormed his residence on Friday with armed policemen in a bid to effect his arrest.
The APC chieftain, however, reportedly resisted the move by refusing to grant them access into his apartment.
Unconfirmed sources claim that Adewara is a known loyalist of Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, and is allegedly nursing governorship ambitions. Observers believe this development may not be unconnected with rising political tensions within the ruling party in the state.
The incident has sparked concerns among residents and party faithful, with some describing it as a clear case of political intimidation.
As of press time, neither the Kwara State Government nor the police authorities have issued an official statement on the matter.
