Tolorunshagba Assumes Office as New Kwara Controller of Corrections
The Controller General of Corrections, Slyvester Ndidi Nwakuche MFR, mni, has appointed Controller Tolorunshagba Femi Emmanuel as the new Controller of Corrections, Kwara State Command.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by SC Adegbulugbe Philip O (anipr), Public Relations Officer, Nigerian Correctional Service, Kwara State Command.
Tolorunshagba officially assumed office on Monday, August 25, 2025, following the deployment of his predecessor, Controller Famuwagun Oyeniran Enitan, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Controller General of Corrections and redeployed to the National Headquarters in Abuja.
A native of Kabba in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Controller Tolorunshagba began his career as a young prison officer at the Old Ilorin Prison, Okekura. Over the years, he has held several key positions, including Officer-in-Charge of Kabba Prison, Officer-in-Charge of the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ile Ife, Osun State, and Deputy Controller of Corrections in charge of Human Resources at the Kwara Command Headquarters, Ilorin.
Before his latest posting, he served as Controller of Corrections, Ekiti State Command.
Described as a disciplined, committed, and dedicated officer, Controller Tolorunshagba is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new role.
