BREAKING: Kwara Governor’s Loyalists Allegedly Mobilise for Counter-Protest in Ilorin East

There are growing indications that loyalists of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, may be mobilising for a counter-protest in the Gambari area of Ilorin East Local Government Area. This move is reportedly in reaction to Tuesday’s protest against the halting of a federal hospital renovation project facilitated by Senator Saliu Mustapha.

Multiple sources who spoke with Kwara Reporters claimed that the planned counter-demonstration is being discreetly coordinated by some political appointees and grassroots loyalists believed to be aligned with the Governor. Their alleged goal is to publicly defend the actions of the Ilorin East Local Government Chairman, AbdulWasiu Agbelere, who ordered a stop to the ongoing hospital renovation.

This alleged mobilisation is said to be coming less than 24 hours after hundreds of residents staged a peaceful protest condemning what they described as political interference in developmental projects. The earlier protest, which accused the state government of working against initiatives linked to Senator Mustapha, has since attracted significant media attention and stirred reactions from across the state.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation or response from the State Government or the local council authorities regarding the alleged counter-protest plans.
