Eid al-Kabir: Sarkin Gobir Urges Unity, Compassion in Sallah Message
The Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin Emirate and Wazirin Kasar Hausa, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria as they celebrate the 2025 Eid al-Kabir festival.
In his Sallah message released on Thursday in Ilorin, Sarkin Gobir conveyed special greetings to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin; His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON. He also extended warm wishes to the Gobirawa at home, across Northern Nigeria, and in the diaspora.
The Sarkin Gobir urged Muslims to embody the true spirit of the festival by extending kindness to their neighbors, promoting peaceful coexistence, and offering sincere prayers for the nation.
“As we celebrate with family and friends, let us not forget those in need. Sharing, caring, and praying for our country are acts of ibadah that bring us closer to Allah,” he added.
He further appealed to Nigerians to use the occasion to strengthen national unity and heal divisions across ethnic, religious, and political lines.
“Nigeria stands at a crucial point in its history. Now more than ever, we must rise above our differences and build a society anchored in justice, tolerance, and accountability. Leadership at every level must reflect the fear of God and the well-being of the people,” Alhaji Gobir emphasized.
He also commended the efforts of security agencies, religious leaders, and community stakeholders who work tirelessly to uphold peace and stability during the festive period. He prayed for continued protection, prosperity, and divine guidance for the nation.
