Worsening Insecurity: Governors Hold Closed-door Meeting With Defence Chief


Governors have held a closed-door meeting with the chief of defence staff, Christopher Musa, to discuss the widespread deterioration of security in the country.

The meeting was presided over by NGF chairman Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, with its focus on recent incidents of kidnapping, violent attacks, and killings.

The discussion centres on the security challenges in states such as Plateau, Benue, and others to find solutions to address the escalating violence.

Governors from Borno, Ekiti, Adamawa, Kaduna, Bayelsa, Gombe, Ogun, Imo, Oyo, Ondo, Benue, Nasarawa, and Plateau were in attendance, alongside the deputy governors of Niger, Enugu, and Bauchi.

Housing minister Ahmed Dangiwa was part of the discussions.
