It’s Challenging To Govern Nigeria, Says Ex-President Buhari
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has said Nigeria poses a lot of challenges to anyone to govern it.
Buhari, who handed over to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2023, spoke at an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Katsina.
Reflecting on his time in office, the ex-President recalled that despite his efforts to address the nation’s challenges, he was often subjected to criticism.
He said: “Those outside the corridors of power do not understand the complexities and difficulties facing Nigeria.
“My health has improved since leaving office. People who visited me told me I look better than before.”
Reflecting on the political situation in the country, ex-President Buhari advised political leaders to fear Allah and remain transparent in managing public funds.
The stakeholders’ meeting was convened in preparation for the impending February 15 local government elections in Katsina State. It was attended by Governor Dikko Umar Radda, former Governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shehu Shema as well as current and former members of the National Assembly and other party chieftains.
