The Kwara State People's Democratic Party (PDP) announces the lifting of the ban on political activities within the party, initially instituted to honor the late former Kwara South Senator, Dr. Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim (FCIB).
As a sign of sober reflection, the PDP imposed a ban on all political activities and ordered its flags lowered for 41 days in honor of the deceased Senator, leading to the suspension of political activities since April 17.
The party in a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, on Monday, said following the successful completion of 41 day mourning period and post-mortal prayer organized in honor of the Late Senator, the party is pleased to announce the lifting of suspension on political activities across the state
The statement reads; Following the successful completion of the post-mortem prayer in honor of Distinguished, the party is pleased to announce the resumption of political activities across the state.
Consequently, local government party chairmen are directed to immediately inform ward chairmen under their jurisdictions to reopen party offices for full activities and raise the party flags that were lowered during these 41 days of mourning.
Accordingly, all local government party chairmen and concerned stakeholders are hereby informed of the planned expanded Exco meeting on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 2 PM.
In addition, the PDP leadership in Kwara is excited to inform the general public about the launch of its official WhatsApp channel via 08157600938. This initiative aims to enhance public interaction with the party as part of our #RescueKwara campaign, promoting wider public participation and engagement.
The PDP under the chairmanship of Rt Honorable Babatunde Mohammed, while expressing gratitude to relevant stakeholders, loyalists, party faithful, and all Kwarans for their solidarity at this difficult time, also assures the general public of the PDP’s readiness to live up to public expectations of a vibrant opposition in the state.
