We Didn't Declare Support For PDP, Kwara Central YPP Leaders

By Adedayo Said

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Kwara under the leadership of its Chairman - Chief Dele Ogunbayo, has debunked the claim that all the 52 wards across the Kwara Central Senatorial district have declared support for the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaib Yaman ahead of Saturday's election.

Chief Ogunbayo in a statement issued on Tuesday says YPP members in Kwara Central are solidly behind the party's Gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Waziri Yakubu Gobir.

YPP has nothing to do with the People Democracy Party, PDP and it's Candidate.

His words: "My attention has been drawn to a press statement making rounds authored by one of Saraki's e-rats that all the ward chairmen, women leaders, youth leaders, and members of the executives of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) across the 52 wards of Kwara Central have on Tuesday night declared their total support for the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday's gubernatorial election, Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi.

"I want to state categorically that this is false. Yes, we are being approached by many political parties for support. These parties and the general public should be weary of political jobbers who only go from one place to another collecting money, and promising what they cannot deliver. No ward chairman, or group of ward chairmen has the authority to give any commitments on behalf of YPP.

"The entire YPP structure across the 52 wards in Kwara Central is keenly behind our Governorship Candidate Waziri Yakubu Gobir, So I appeal to our party faithfuls, supporters, and the general public to disregard this false claim by these agents of darkness who are hellbent on dragging others to their mess. I am also giving the assurance that YPP will never return to Egypt."
