2023: Igbomina-Ekiti Youth Begins House To House Campaign For YPP Reps Candidate
By Adedayo Said
The Igbomina-Ekiti Youth Stakeholders Forum (IEYSF) has kickstarted a “House to House”campaign in support of the YPP House of Reps Candidate for the Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero federal constituency Charles Olufemi Folayan also known as Asoju Odo.
The organization kickstarted the campaign yesterday from Oke-Igbala in Irepodun local government area of Kwara State to the various settlements around the community. Their aim is to take the campaign to the various households across the forty-two wards of the constituency throughout the campaign period.
You would recall that the organization led by their President Comr. Isreal Ayeni held a press conference in November, 2022 to endorse the YPP House of Reps candidate Charles Folayan as their candidate in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
The campaign team yesterday led by the Vice-President of the organization Comr Adebayo Femi Julius met with the community leaders before the commencement of their outreach to the various houses. The team leader said, the youth are embarking on this mission to save the people from the current hardship brought on us by selfish and corrupt leaders.
Adebayo told the people that the youth of Igbomina-Ekiti irrespective of their political affiliation have come together to enthrone one of their own as member of the House of Reps. He appeal to the elders to support their effort as a way toward to end poverty, unemployment, poor education and more.
“Our fathers and mothers here, we don’t need to tell you the situation of things out there, you are feeling it yourself, poverty, unemployment and lack of good education have turned many youth into engaging in crimes and all forms of social vices. Many of you can no longer sleep with your two eyes closed. This situation must change.
The interest and prayers of all parents is to see their children successfully and take care of them, this is not the situation today because majority of children have no bright future, no good education and no employment. They don’t care about us. They only care about their personal houses and cars.
“We thought the people in power now would rescue us but they are the same with the former. So, we can’t go back and we can’t stay here. This is why we have decided to put one of us forward, the person that understands our problems and have the capacity to fight for our right and interest. He is the only one in the race that we know very well and we can vouch for him. Please support us.
After an interactive session with the community leaders, the team began the house to house campaign with the distribution of flyers and one on one engagement with the people.
