BREAKING: Police Averts Bloody Clash Between YPP And PDP Supporters In Omu-aran

A bloody clash between the supporters of the YPP House of Reps Aspirant for Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero federal constituency Charles Olufemi Folayan and his counterpart in the Poeple's Democratic Party Engr. Dare Bankole was averted yesterday in Omu-Aran Kwara State.

It was reported that supporters of Engr. Bankole was caught yesterday at about 7:20pm removing a bill board with portrate and message of the Young Progressives Party's aspirant Prince Folayan and replacing it with that of Engr. Bankole. The situation became roudy when supporters of Prince Folayan stormed the venue to stop them.

However, the police team from the Omu-Aran division got to the scene around 8pm to avert the crisis.

The Chairman of the YPP in Irepodun Mr. Olarewaju Abidemi who was at the scene told the Police that the YPP bill board which has been paid for to the media company in charge has been there for about a month now, he wonder why the PDP supporters would come there in the night to remove it.

He said, the PDP action is to provoke the peaceful YPP and distract their aspirant whose popularity in the constituency has become torn on the flesh of the opposition parties.

"We have paid the media company in charge of this board and we have been using it for about a month now. This people are only here to cause crisis, they are only being threatened by the popularity of our aspirant in the constituency but we would remain peaceful and not be distracted by their actions"

The PDP youth leader Irepodun local government Alh Wasiu Sariyu who led PDP team to the scene said, he has taken over the bill board from the media company. He claimed to have been responsible for the repairs of the bill board since last year after heavy rain storm.

"I have taken over this bill board since last year, rain storm has destroyed the old one, so the company can not lay claim to this bill board again"

Our medium would continue to follow up on the situation and report appropriately to the public.
