2021 International Day For The Elimination Of Violence Against Women/Girls
The date of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women also marks the start of the "16 Days of Activism" that precedes Human Rights Day on December 10 each year.
Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports has it that there has been an increase in violence against women, globally about 243 million women and girls have been abused and only about 40% or less of these cases that have experienced one violence or the other reported it or sought help. Cases that we all are aware of, the likes of rape, molestation, abuse, trafficking and many others.
These sixteen days are an opportunity for each of us to inform ourselves of the seriousness of such violence and question how as individuals and communities we can contribute to a respectful and grateful attitude for the dignity of each human person.
Because equality starts with me and you, in our homes, offices, organization, communities, societies, etc.
