Two Nabbed For Armed Robbery In Kwara
Two suspected members of armed robbery have been arrested at Ga Adabata, Temidire, in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.
They were arrested by local vigilante while others escaped.
The Spokesman of the Kwara State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Babawale Zaid Afolabi confirmed this to newsmen in Ilorin on Sunday.
Mr Afolabi said “there have been reports of nefarious activities of suspected armed robbers in some communities of Alapa town in Asa local government area of the state.
“The robbers were fond of going around with dangerous weapons, attacking innocent people and dispossessing them of their belongings.
“One of such attacks took place on Saturday night, some people were attacked with matchets and other dangerous weapons by hoodlums who carted away cash and other valuables belonging to the victims.”
He, however, said two of the suspected robbers were tracked down and arrested by the local vigilante while others escaped.
The two arrested suspects were handed over to NSCDC operatives at Alapa Divisional Office, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing members of the gang, he added.
