Kwara First Lady Presents Work Tool To Beneficiaries Of Skills Acquisition Programme
The First Lady of Kwara and Founder, Ajike people support center, Amb. Dr Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq has affirmed skill acquisition as an effective tool for combating extreme poverty, as it gives room for employment and wealth creation for sustainable economic growth to the state and country at large.
Amb. Abdulrazaq made this affirmation at the graduation and work tool presentation to beneficiaries of beauty and makeover training held on Monday 20th September, 2021 at the Kwara state government house, ilorin.
Amb. Abdulrazaq explained that unemployment is one of the major challenges confronting Women and Youths in Nigeria and it is in this vein the Ajike people support center has resolved to training and equipping Youths and Women in skills of their choice so as to cut down the alarming rate of unemployment and to create wealth among the people of the state.
In the same vein, the Chairman house committee on health and environment, Honourable Razaq Owolabi in his remarks appreciated Amb. Olufolake for her unflinching support towards empowering Women and Youths of the state through Her office and the Ajike people support center.
In his address, the secretary to the state government, Prof. Mamman Jubril commended the First Lady of Kwara state for her ceaseless efforts in making the welfare of the people of the state especially Women and Youths a priority and further implore the beneficiaries to continuously develop themselves on the knowledge they've acquired for excellent productivity.
Also in her remarks, the Commissioner for women affairs and social development, Mrs Abosede Aremu while commending the First Lady for the laudable initiative admonished the beneficiaries to make best use of knowledge and tools they've received.
The trainer Abdulkareem Nurat appreciated Amb. Abdulrazaq for her continuous efforts at positively impacting the lives of the Youths and Women of the state.
She further implored the graduands to persistently practice the skill they've acquired to attain perfection.
Sarah Olaoluwa and Latifat Oladimeji, thanked the First Lady on behalf of other beneficiaries and promised to build more on the knowledge they've acquired and judiciously utilize the tools presented to them. They also prayed for God's guidance on her.
Since it's inception, the Ajike People Support Center Skills acquisition and empowerment scheme has trained over six thousand women and youth and has provided tools to over four thousand of these beneficiaries.
