Bolarinwa Hosts Kwara APC Stakeholders in Ilorin

The embattled State Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Hon Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa has restated his unshaken loyalty and committed to the ideals of governing party.

Bolarinwa stated this on Thursday while General Stakeholders Assembly held at Niger River Basin Field, Ilorin to mark two years anniversary of taking over leadership in Kwara State.

He noted that no amount of intimidation, harassment and state sponsored blackmails will force dedicated leaders, stakeholders and members out of the party they jointly brought to power in 2019.

The Kwara APC Caretaker Chairman inaugurated by Buni-led committee in December 2020 in line with Party's NEC directive narrated how Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has being trying the party structure shabbily after his emergence as governorship flagbearer. 

Bolarinwa said Governor Abdulrazaq singlehandedly picked his deputy without consulting party leadership and has since then treating the party members with disdain and hatred.

He also hinted on the plot by Governor Abdulrazaq to prevent Kwara APC General Stakeholders meeting by forcing Arch Santa event management to cancel their booking after paying N1.5million for hall rental.

''They are not relenting in their evil scheme of silencing and bullying committed Kwara APC stakeholders. Yesterday (May 26, 2021), we received phone call from Arch Santa Hall management to cancel our booking for today's event and offers to refund N1.5million paid two days earlier. The Hall management said they received phone call from Director of Protocol Kwara State Government House not to all the event to hold. They are desperate to hijack party structure but God will continue to give us victory.''

After the meeting attended by Stakeholders from 193 wards in Kwara State, they reaffirmed their loyalty to Hon Bashir Bolarinwa led State Caretaker committee.

''We affirmed that Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa having been legally sworn in as the Kwara State Caretaker Chairman of APC by the NEC of the party remains the legally and authentic chairman. We decried and condemn the non-inclusive nature of governance being currently experienced in our dear state, as it runs counter to the intent and spirit of Kwara OTOGE mantra as well as normal democratic norms.

''We condemn in totality the jaundiced recently concluded registration/revalidation exercise conducted in Kwara state because, the exercise as conducted by Senator Danboi committee runs afoul of all laid down party guidelines. We affirmed and stood by our positions as presented to the APC registration Appeal Committee that all our over 500,000 loyal members that were shut out of the jaundiced registration exercise be duly registered/revalidated immediately before party congresses.

They also called for level playing ground and transparency during the congress
